Meet 'Old Ginger'.
At 16 years of age, he is considered bymost to be the oldest wild lion in Zambia. According to the guides he has beenaround for several years, he dominated the Western side of the lowerzambezi NPwith his 2 brothers before he moved eastwards.
In the year 2021 he started loosing histeeth though still in a good shape.
November 2022, two rivals displaced themand lost their territory.
2023/2024 Ginger started shrinking and andlost more teeth.
He's currently being kept by his 3 sons whoare at the age of 5, they hunt for him and give him company. In this footage hefeeds on the insides of a dead hippo which are soft and easy to swallow.

16歲的他被大多數人認為是贊比西最年長的野生獅子。根據導遊的說法，他已經存在了好幾年了，在向東遷移之前，他和他的兩個兄弟統治了下贊比西國家公園的西側。
2021年，儘管身體狀況良好，但他開始掉牙。
2022 年 11 月，兩個競爭對手取代了他們並失去了領土。
2023/2024 薑開始萎縮並失去更多牙齒。

Ginger: The Old King of Zambia
At 16 years old, Ginger is believed to be the oldest lion in Zambia. In his prime, he and his two brothers ruled the Western Side of Lower Zambezi for many years. Though eventually ousted by two rival males, Ginger’s story was far from over.
His three young sons grew into formidable lions, fiercely loyal to their father. Together, they reclaimed their kingdom, expelling the usurpers. Now, Ginger’s sons reign over the territory once controlled by their father and uncles. They ensure Ginger is well-fed and healthy, with the old king occasionally joining them on patrol.
