A PARTNER appreciation event was held by KFC and Fitness Zone yesterday
for the sponsors and partners that have helped them organise the first
season of KFC Fitness Zone 3 On 3 Streetball Challenge 2013.
Held at the Airport Mall, Fitness Zone Managing Director Wu Chun
and KFC Senior Marketing Manager Jonathan Bong handed out certificates of
appreciation to Imperial Sports, The Brunei Times, Kristal FM, Palm Garden
Hotel, Hui Huang Enterprise, Mobile One, Handsome Enterprise, Tutti
Frutti Citis Square, PHLS Sdn Bhd, YGK Jewellery, Honey Carsmart,
Revive, Intracorp, BruneiBasketball.com, Integ Technology System
and Boxnation.
In his welcoming speech, Bong thanked the sponsors and spoke about the
efforts put in to promote their businesses and organisations.
According to Bong, sponsors were publicised on billboards, lamp post
banners, t-shirts, and with the help of event organisers Trinity and
Good Game, were also promoted through marketing channels such as cinema
advertisements, social media, and even creating fun challenges the
popular Youc1000 Obstacle Challenge being one of them.
"Currently, our partners like advertising on our serving tray liners the
most, because with 14 different outlets throughout the Sultanate, their
message reaches out quickly to a mass crowd."
Bong also spoke to The Brunei Times about how challenging it was to
organise the event. "People may think that it's contradictory for KFC,
a fast food restaurant, to collaborate with Fitness Zone and organise
this Streetball Challenge. But we are also in the fight against obesity
and other diseases, and we believe exercise is a crucial part of that."
He also highlighted the Hopes in the Hoop initiative between KFC and
Fitness Zone, which promotes basketball in schools and teaches the
youth about leading a balanced lifestyle.
Wu Chun said that they have also been conducting basketball clinics in
their bid to promote the sport. "I admit, I am a sports fanatic. I
understand how the young ones who do sports hunger for competition.
Therefore we are here to not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but to
also keep them interested by hosting competitions.
