I've done the same, early in the game's life, but that's one of the consequences of a live game; it's always going to be evolving and so things will change when you look back on them. Consuming or Fortifying heroes is a permanent action and we can't cancel or reverse them once completed, so we won't be able to offer the hero back to your account. Apologies for any inconvenience. This change was announced in advance in the forums, so I do recommend keeping tabs there for upcoming changes. If there's anything else that we can answer, let us know, and have a good one.
