LN: The idea you were drown to … 吸引你的是。。。
ZQ: I mean the idea of being a successful actor, with recognition and with fame. And then to achieve it, and to have some illusion about what it means. I only ever thought it was a positive thing. It was only when I started to experience the first time, I realize that there was actually as many as more negative parts of that in itself. Separate from the creative process.
我想要成为一个成功的演员，想要被人熟知，想要出名。我为此努力，并对此存在一些幻想。我当时只想到积极的方面。直到我开始第一次切身体验，我才发现除了创造的过程，实际上消极的方面一样多。

As a kid, you know, watching the Economy(?) Wars, some movie stars, somebody I really respect, it’s sort of it’s shining itself, right? But then in a sudden it loses its lester(?) so fast. For me, it very quickly became something else. It became illuminated(?) in other ways, when people have all kinds of projections and associations with you that have no basis in reality. They are only about the characters that you’ve played or the persona that you cultivate in the real world.
我小的时候看电影明星好像他们自身会发光，我真的很尊重他们。但很快他们就失去了光环。对我来说，很快一切都改变了，变成了另一种意义上的东西。人们会对你进行各种推测和联想，但这些推测和联想是没有任何现实依据的，仅仅是关于你扮演的角色，或者你在现实世界中形成的形象。

So from that side it was one thing. Increatively, Sylar was a very dark character, he was filled by a murderous rage in a lot of ways. So you know , it was challenging at times to … 从那个角度是一回事，Sylar是一个暗黑的角色，充满了凶残的愤怒，各种意义上的。所以有时候这对我很有挑战。

LN: How do you get touch with that? how do you find that? 你怎么达到那个形象？怎么找到状态的？
ZQ: I use music a lot in my work. I’d listen to different kinds of music through my process, and then it was just a matter of a lot of it became technique over time. Certain voices in the show became really understandable… 我在工作中经常利用音乐。我在工作过程中会听各种类型的音乐，然后随着时间过去，最终能将很多东西转变为技巧，用台词来让观众理解。。。

LN: Were there physical attributes that you show or ? 有什么身体动作上的表现特征吗？
ZQ: Stillness. Stillness was a big one for me, and allowing… 完全静止。完全静止对我很重要，能让我。。。
LN: For that character. 对那个角色重要。
ZQ: Yeah, for that character, and in general actually. I think stillness is under-rated as a quality on stage especially and holding you space. It was a character of tremendous power, but a queit power. So for me, it was like really giving myself the space to drop in and let that resonate(?) and translate it into a character. But yeah, stillness was one for me.
对，对那个角色，实际上整体上也是。我认为静止这项品质完全被低估了，尤其是在舞台表演方面，它能让你控制气场。Sylar是一个拥有巨大力量的角色，但是那是一种沉静的力量。对我来说，静止真的能给我自己空间去沉淀下来，去产生共鸣，然后转化去演绎角色。总之，静止对我是很重要的一点。

LN: What about the writers? Do you always think they were writing for you? 你对编剧怎么看？你觉得他们是在为你而编的吗？
ZQ: No. Were you? 不，你这样想吗？
LN: No. 不。
ZQ: Yeah. I mean, you know, I feel like they are obviously valuable part of the process, but it’s different especially when you’re working on … they are amazing! I love writers! Love Writers. 对啊。我相信他们很显然是制作过程中很有价值的一部分。但不是那回事，尤其是在。。。他们很棒！我爱编剧们！很爱编剧们。

But it’s a challenge because often times writers in… especially in contacts that we were in television series, are serving a larger thing. I mean they are not serving us all the time, we are serving them… 但这也有挑战，因为有时候编剧。。。尤其是在拍摄电视剧的时候，是一个更大的团队。编剧团队不是总为我们服务，而我们总是服务于他们。。。

LN: How many years did you do ….? 你们拍了几年？
ZQ: 4. 四年。
LN: 4 years, and you had a lot of different writers? Or…? 四年，你们有很多不同的编剧吗？
ZQ: Yeah, we did have a lot of writers. The first season and the second season sort of started to integrate(?) a little bit and they brought in new people. There were some people that stayed the whole time, but some of the primary writers in the first and second seasons started leaving, and so that some sort of perspectives were lost a little bit. 我们确实有不少编剧。第一季和第二季的时候编剧团队慢慢完善，有新人加入。有些人一直都留在这个团队里，但第一、第二季的有些主要编剧开始离开了，所以原本的剧情走向也丢失了一些东西。

LN: Yeah, that’s an interesting issue that people don’t quite understand. The idea that I have said many times, the actor is a person that has to take care of the character, because the actor stays, producers leave, writers leave, so other producers and writers come in, and may not have the same graf(?) for the character that previous writers and producers had. They may have a new idea that is good or not. And it’s up to the actors to maintain some kind of consistency. 这是个有趣的话题，人们可能不是很了解。我说过很多次，演员必须要对角色负责，因为演员保持不变，制片人、编剧都有可能离开，又有新的制片人和编剧加入，但他们与之前的编剧、制片人可能于角色有不同的理解。他们带来新的想法，或好或坏。能否保持角色的前后一致性，就取决于演员了。

But I want to go back for a moment to this idea of public recognition, because I think that is a part of the secret of our lives. 我想要让话题暂时回到公共认知度上来，因为我认为这正是我们生活中秘密的一部分。
ZQ: Definitely. 确实是。
LN: I have had experiences, when I walked in to a public situation, worrying that I will be recognized and worrying that I will not. 我有这种经验，我走进一个公共场所，既担心有人把自己认出来，又担心没人把自己认出来。
ZQ: Totally. 绝对是这样。
LN: Why are you nodding your head? 你为什么点头？

They find out where I live, they find out where I work, they find out where I get my coffee, and that tri-angle which literally is…became sort of like “Okey, there you are, ” it became about… it was sort of something that… It was opposite of what I desired obviously, but it was something I expected, you know? It became reallyinteresting because, then it was like “well. I have been aware of …” it becomes … 他们找到我住的地方，我工作的地方，我买咖啡的地方，所以实际上在这条三点一线上。。。就变成了“好吧，你又来了。”这很显然跟我想要的恰恰相反，但是这是我能预料到的。这就变得有意思了，变成“好吧，我就知道。。。”
