perhaps its because , they can go to take a sip of tea while talking about gossips for fun in the afternoon if there are various kinds of gossips of celebrities and small potatoes to meet theirs curiosity? some people just like to put theirs happiness on other's embarrassment

Only those Old ladies Who are in the age range of 60 and above like to Gossip about right and wrong of others' , Especially Something negative . That's the only way for them to amuse themselves , Because they don't know How to use phone and are fed up with TV programs .

Well there are a number of reasons. First there is entertainment. Like many of you have said, people are just bored with too much free time on their hands so they need to create some drama for their own amusement.
Another reason is jealousy. Some people can’t stand seeing others succeed or better than them, so they have to drag them through the mud to feel better about themselves. It stems from a sense of inferiority.

I'm sure it's nature of mankind to spread the news including gossip from the birth of their languages.
" A bad news is a good news" , the bad news is more strong to attract the attention of others.
Why does some people want to spread gossip? I'm sure it's because they have nothing to do. If they are busy to do something, they have no time to do it.
