Just like what they mentioned above, as one of the most famous investment banks in the world, Morgan Stanley has a complex organizational structure and strong culture.
How to manage the effective teams? It is a big problem! Of course, they must need an outstanding leader to operate this huge company. So, this part, I will introduce the leadership in Morgan Stanley.
Let‘s look at the screen!
John Mack, the man who return to Morgan Stanley as its chair man and chief executive in July 2005, he replaced the former CEO, Philip Purcell.
There are two comparisons between them, which indicates what important qualities a successful leader should have.
The first one is job relevant knowledge.
And the second, behaviors.
John Mark is a very famous investment banker in Wall Street.
Philip Purcell is just professional in individual investment and business of credit card.
With more experience in this filed, John Mack decide a right direction for development of Morgan Stanley.
Let’s look at the different behaviors.
John Mack has a good relationship with his employees, which depends on his personalities. He concerns for subordinates and communicates with them directly. His behavior brings a positive change to the bank. On the contrary, Philip Purcell was a less friendly and indifferent man, even kept away from his employees and managers. Consequently, he can not earn people’s trust.
To conclude, for the comparisons of the two leaders I mentioned above, Leadership styles of John Mack are regarded to be beneficial for developing effective collaboration of employees. He is quite a capable leader, keeping Morgan Stanley away from the deep trouble and chasing next peak.
