1.6.0 Introduction of the new AR Music Player Pro application
Notes and Requirements for Firmware Update Firmware upgrade is not field reversible. After the firmware upgrade, customers will not be able to revert the firmware
back to earlier version. 1GB free space or more is available on the internal storage of M20 Windows 7/8/10 or newer Mac OS X 10.6.9 or above with Android File Transfer installed Upgrade should only be executed when the battery level is 80% or higher
Additional note for Mac OS X/Safari users
By default, Safari for Mac OS X will automatically decompress ZIP file after downloading. While M20 accepts only the update
package in ZIP format, the automatically decompressed content will be unusable. To ensure the download is properly done on
Safari/Mac OS X, please do the following before downloading the file: Before downloading the file, configure the Safari not to decompress the file automatically
Under Safari > Preferences > General, uncheck the option Open “safe” file after downloading
Procedures to Update Firmware and Perform a Full Reset 1. Download the firmware file M20_V1600BT.zip 2. Connect AR-M20 to the computer with Micro USB data cable 3. For PC users, run Windows Explorer. Open ARM20 > Internal SD card.
Copy the file into the root level of Internal SD card
For Mac users, run Android File Transfer (if it does not launch automatically)
If a micro SD card has been installed, please select Internal SD card.
Copy the file into the root level of the Internal SD card. 4. Disconnect AR-M20 from the computer after the file transfer completes 5. Open Settings > About devices, select System update 6. Select Local updates > FOLDER > Internal storage 7. Select M20_V1600BT.zip 8. After the prompt “Are you sure to reboot?” appears, select OK 9. After the unit boots up, open Settings > About devices and tap on Model number for three times to bring the qualcomm
diagnostic menu. 10. Open Test and select Factory default.
Note: This will eliminate any user software installed.
The firmware update will be executed.
Please do not interrupt the firmware update process until completion
