The surface of marsis full of sand and it had no stable liquid water. But lately NASA told us thatmars has a small amount of water. The atmosphere of mars, which is most of CO₂, was very cold. And there are alot of dust storms every year. It compare with the earth, its geologicalactivity is not active. Mostof the mars' surface topography is formed in the more active period of ancienttimes, there are dense craters, volcanoes and canyons. It has the highestmountain called Olympus Mons in the solar system and has the biggest andlargest and canyon called Valles Marineris.
Mars called God ofWar in the west because of its color. So mars sometime called Red Star. BeforeGreeks lived in the earth, the ancient Egyptian used to believe in mars andthey called mars is God of farming. After the ancient Greeks, the ancient Rometook mars as God of War.
Mars called Yinghuo star in the ancientChina, because it has red and move around so that people were confused. SoChinese called it Yinghuo.
