Introduced as the new neighbour in Season 1, Mike comes to Wisteria Lanein hopes of finding out what happened to his former lover. He soon meets Susan Mayerand they immediately fall in love. They later get married and end up having a son, MJ Delfino, together. However, after helping one of his neighbors, Mike's life is tragically ended when he is shot by a loan shark.
Early Life
When Mike was young, his father, Nick Delfino, used to beat his mother, Adele, and Mike felt bad as he couldn't do anything to help her, thus giving Mike a need to protect people in the future. ("You Take for Granted")When Mike was a teenager, he was a popular kid, however, his father was arrested for murdering his boss and sent to serve a life-sentance, destroying Mike's popularity.

Mike soon began to date a girl named Deirdre Taylor, a drug addict whom he loved very much, Mike also sold drugs to support himself. A rogue cop once tried to rape Deirdre and Mike fended him off, and, he accidentally threw him off the balcony, killing him. He was sent to jail for five years for manslaughter and drug dealing. Deirdre was left pregnant with a child she named "Dana". Later, Deirdre sold her baby to Angelaand Todd Forrestfor drug money. The two of them took the baby to Wisteria Laneand Deirdre came back for it a few years later. To stop her from taking her baby, Angela (Mary Alice) stabbed Deirdre and buried her under their pool.
