General Tips
This is the official guide for Time Builder: Pyramid Rising 2.
Press Play (A) to start playing the game. Select Settings (B) to change display and sound options.
You can change the current player under Profiles (C). The small panel (D) displays your current progress in the game.
It is advisable to play every level at least once without purchasing bonuses. Once you have experienced any level once, you can develop a strategy and choose a bonus according to that strategy (without wasting golden scarabs).
Always try to upgrade houses immediately after collecting the rent. This way, the next rent will often be available directly after the upgrade.
Workers, tax collectors, camels, and elephants can be hired/purchased at your camp. You can chase away crocodiles with both elephants and camels.
If you know that you will need elephants in a level, it might save you gold to immediately purchase the elephants upgrade instead of first purchasing the camel’s upgrade.
2,000 stones can be produced for 4,000 gold at the quarry. 1,000 stones can be sold at the market for 4,000 gold. This is the standard exchange rate in the game. Try to make better deals with traders, and at the port to take advantage of this set exchange rate.
Mummies might appear after opening a sarcophagus. They will stun workers in their way for a few seconds, but will disappear automatically after a while.
If you select a thief just once he will not steal any gold from you, but you will not earn any gold either. If you catch a thief when he has already stolen gold from your treasury you will only receive the stolen gold, but no additional reward.
It is helpful to check out contents of hidden chests, sarcophagi, and offers from traders right in the beginning of any level to develop your strategy according to that. Afterwards you can restart the level and proceed.
In some levels you might have to accept the less advantageous offer from a trader to reach your goal.
Bonuses
The upper section (A) shows the current number of golden scarabs in your possession.
You can review the cost of a bonus here (B).
The small symbol (C) displays the bonus and its advantage, such as additional time, doubled rent, decreased growth time for trees, or the inspector bonus, which shows you what traders or chests have to offer.
Once you have chosen a specific bonus you can select the arrow (D) to start the level. Alternatively you can also press the X (E) to play the level without any bonus.
The solution for each level in this guide was created without using any bonuses. If you find that a specific level is very challenging even with the step-by-step solution, buy a bonus in the beginning to make it a bit easier.
Depending on your performance you can earn 5, 10, or 15 golden scarabs during each regular and bonus level. Bonuses cost 10, 20, or 30 golden scarabs; you cannot buy the best bonus for each level.
If you purchase a bonus for one specific level, you will have to purchase the bonus again when you want to replay the level a second time. Because of that, it is advisable to only buy a bonus when you have already developed an appropriate strategy for a specific level.
Some temples require gold to be built, others require stones. Select a temple to see what resource it requires.
Buildings
When you select any empty spot you can choose between houses (A) and buildings (B).
The construction and upgrade price for any house is always the same. The hut costs 25 stones to build, a three-ankh hut costs 100 stones altogether.
The villa costs 75 stones to build, a three-ankh villa 300 stones.
The manor costs 150 stones to build, a three-ankh manor requires 600 stones.
The palace costs 250 stones to build, a three-ankh palace requires 1,000 stones.
The quarry allows you to produce stones on your own, its construction costs 1,000 gold. How many stones you can produce depends on whether your workers use camels or elephants.
The bank costs 500 stones to build. Each time you collect rent from any house, an additional 50 percent of this rent will be stored in the bank.
The market requires 500 stones to build and enables you to exchange stones for gold. The offers depend on how many stones you currently possess.
The port cannot be built and appears only in certain levels. You can hire workers, tax collectors cheaper, or make resource deals in the port.
Trees offer two distinct advantages and can only be planted on special spots. You can either harvest them for additional gold or let them bloom. While they bloom they increase joy and decrease the time of rent cycles.
Once you select any tree you can review a bar that displays its current growth cycle.
By selecting gold and stone deposits you can find out how many resources are stored within them.
