Last August, SOE, sonly online entertainment teased possible support for the virtual reality headset in a behind-the-scenes video for EverQuest Next. Without saying anything about VR, a developer wore an Oculus Rift while the camera knowingly lingered for a few moments. It wasn't just for show: In a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) yesterday, SOE president John Smedley confirmed that the company would indeed support the Oculus Rift "in some way shape or form."
President of SOE John Smedley said,
"we will support Oculus Rift in some way shape or form. Probably for no other reason then it's really damn cool and programmers love that stuff."
EverquestNext looks to be a great game on its own. Now that I hear about official VR support I am even more excited. Do any of you play MMOs? Have you played Everquest or Everquest2? Will you play this game? I am pretty sure I will!
