university多指综合性大学 college

college则是学院，但也不绝对

以前知道，现在却糊涂了。因为我听说了bothton college 和bothton university

There is not really any difference between the two words in USA.

英国和美国的定义不一样，美国的大学可以叫university也可以是college，一般是college比较小型。但英国就比较混乱，大学和中学也可以叫college，著名的伊顿公学就是叫Eaton College。

貌似英国一些大学（university）里面有不同的 college （学院）：
例：University of Cambridge - King's College, St John's College, Trinity College ...

二者区别不大。university指综合性大学，college指学院。

there's a difference, some high school are named so and so college, those high school are usually privately owned, while other ones are actual post-secondary education colleges.
Meanwhile, it's more easier to get into college than university. You could get and C average in high school to get into a college vs an A average to get into university.

比如我们学校（大连理工大学）叫Dalian University of Technology，而北京理工大学则称作Bejing Institute of Technology. 总之很乱。。。

加拿大通常University = 大学; whereas College = 大专。
