Touch and go，一触即发？没错，不过你只猜对了一半。 

touch and go landings是飞机着陆的一种方式，是指飞机着陆的时候，没有完全着陆就立刻重新起飞。 

touch and go已经有400多年的历史了，touch and go的使用不仅限于航空学中，大约在16世纪，它的字面意思解释为：瞬间接触后马上离开或继续前进（to touch for an instant and then leave or move on）。 后来，touch and go被用来描述急燥的情绪（impatient temperament）。 到了19世纪，touch and go已经有了我们现在常用的意思：危险的，不稳定的（dangerous or precarious），用来形容在灾难中死里逃生，例如两艘船擦肩而过时的情景。 

今天touch and go的意思是：危险的；无把握的（risky or uncertain in situation），常用于形容谈判、高难度的手术等。 

例如：a touch and go situation（一触即发的危险形势） 

It was touch and go whether the doctor would get there in time.（医生能否及时赶到那里是没有把握的。）
