No, he's not coldblooded nor remorseless, but it may take a bit to learn that he is not. He also changes considerably.

3a .What gifts does Zevran like?
He has two plot gifts -- Antivan Boots that can be found in a chest in the store in Haven, and Dalish gloves that can be found behind a tree in the West Bracillian Forest in the Shade camp. These gifts both have dialogs associated with them, though you can give them to him before going through the specific dialogs. He also likes gold and silver bars.

3b.Does Zevran ever actually fall in love with the Warden?
Yes, he does, but it happens later in the game. You first must complete all the treaty quests and have Arl Eamon call the Landsmeet. After traveling to Denerim with Eamon, just traveling around the Denerim map will trigger an encounter with Taliesen, a fellow Crow with whom Zevran had been close. This is the personal quest for Zevran that will allow his status to either switch to (Friendly) or (Love) when his approval is high enough.

Actually, you did agree to go to the tent. Zevran asks very clearly if it can go beyond a massage. In fact, every step in the romance, Zevran asks permission before moving forward. I believe this is a nod to males who are uncomfortable with the thought of a male/male romance.

4a.Is there a way to turn down Zevran's massage without ending the romance? It's going too fast for me!
Yes, you can turn down the trip to the tent without an approval loss and without ending the romance. When he suggests the massage, first give a nice answer, then in the second dialog ask him if he's suggesting what you think he is. Then either ask him if he's sure or tell him you're not sure. When he asks if you're of a mind, tell him that you two are not exactly alone. He seems a bit charmed and the dialog ends with the romance intact and no approval drop. However, he will not ask the warden to the tent again, so when you feel it's time, you'll be the one who has to do the inviting.

4b.I'm at +71 (Adore) and while I've gotten the poetry reading, Zevran has never offered me a massage. What gives?
If you invite him to the tent earlier in the relationship, he doesn't offer the massage. You do get far higher approval if you're the one who does the asking, however.

5.Zevran offered me the earring and I don't see any more romance dialogs. Is that it? I've been wandering around and there's no new dialogs. Does the romance end if I accept the earring?
Zevran's romance does not end with the first offering of the earring, though refusing may lead to Zevran offering it again, which can be taken as a proposal. You DO need to to talk to him at camp and invite him to your tent, however. He will start rejecting the warden, but if you persist, he will explain why. If he's not refusing to go to your tent, you took a larger-than-usual approval drop for the earring conversation and you need to get his approval back up to 91+.

6.There's a second offer of the earring where Zevran proposes? When does THIS happen?
You need to reject the earring the first time he offers it. Then when he declares his feelings, you need to tell him either, “I'm no wiser than you,” or “Maybe it would be better for you if we stopped.” He will offer the earring a second time, and the warden will be able to take that as a proposal. Telling him, “I do, and I feel the same” will lead to the dialog ending WITHOUT the second offer of the earring. If you're on a PC, Charsen's mod, ZevRing, corrects this, but otherwise, I'd suggest not selecting that option, as nice as it is.

7.I killed Taliesen and Zevran's approval meter still says 82 (Adore)! And he hasn't offered the earring! And he's HAPPILY going to my tent! What's going on?
Approval for any of the romance characters doesn't turn to love until you hit 91+ (Love). The love dialogs do not trigger until your approval is 91+ (Love). Fortunately, even if you're out of gifts and conversation, going to the tent will get you +1 approval each time.

7a.Ok, so he WAS at 100 (Love) and I took your stupid advice and turned down the earring and now he's at 80 (Love). We're still having sexy time. Is my warden THAT irresistible?
Well, yes, your warden IS that irresistible, but you refused the earring in a pretty harsh way. You'll still get the second offer, but the love dialogs don't trigger until 91+ (Love) so you need some additional time in the tent to get the approval back up.

7b.Why is Zevran still at 91+ (Adore) after Taliesen? Where's my damn earring? I want my earring!
If, after the Taliesen encounter, you tell him twice it's his choice whether he goes or stays, he will ask to stay. If you then tell him that it would be hard to kiss him if he leaves, he kisses the warden and the romance ends right there, never going past adore. You will never see the earring, because he needs to be in love to offer it. The mod, Dialog Tweaks, changes this, but not retroactively. I also fix it in Zevran Dialog Fix, but if you're past that point, the flag cannot be set.

8. I want my Human Noble to be King/Queen, but I don't want to lose Zevran. Can I have both?
Yes, Zevran will stay if his approval is at or above 71+ (Adore) and/or if the warden and Zevran have made love if your noble is getting married and he does seem relieved that the relationship isn't over. There is one caveat: He will still force a human noble female to choose between him and Alistair if both are at or above 71+ (Adore); the jealousy threshold still applies. Breaking up with Alistair does not change the wedding plans, however; even if you choose Zevran over Alistair, the wedding is a done deal. Since Anora cannot be romanced, this is not an issue with a human noble male. You can also break up with Zevran in the conversation about your upcoming wedding without approval loss and without him asking to leave -- just tell him that you're sorry and you'll get a very sweet dialog along with the breakup. If you tell him, “Best to end it now,” you end up with -10 approval, however, and not as nice a dialog as just saying that you're sorry. If your approval is 70 (Care) or below and they have not been to the tent, he will break up with the warden.
