我已经知道为什么了。在书上看到了，楼上回答的，和我问的不是一回事。
单数用was，且是在第一和第三人称，这绝对没错
第二人称单数是were
之所以they用were
were是代表复数第一，二，三人称，
但我又有问题搞不懂

用when来提问，那动词clean后面还有ed吗？

没有，when did he clean his shoes

when does he clean his shoes
有位朋友替我解答了
我又问为什么不是用did
她说did是用在完成时，而且动词不能加ed

did是完成时，我笑了。。。。
cleaned 是过去式， 是属于do 一类的实义动词，那么在问句中应该把cleaned先还原为原型，再把cleaned本身所携带的过去式这个属性由do携带，放置在主语前面，变为did，比如：
he cleaned the floor.改为问句： did he clean the floor?
he cleans the floor. 改为问句： does he clean the floor?

第二句是由do 携带cleans这个动词里面的第三人称单数（也就是动词加s）属性变为does, 放在主语———he的前面。

第三人称的单数用was，第三人称的复数用were
